Who are we?
SafetyWorks! is a multi-agency interactive safety centre serving the community of Tyne and Wear. We provide innovative, enjoyable learning experiences enabling visitors to participate safely in realistic situations illustrating every day hazards and how to prevent them. Our partners include Northumbria Police, British Transport Police, Nexus who run the Metro system, Local Authority Road Safety teams and RNLI Programmes: Personal Safety - for Year 6 (Key Stage 2) Citizenship – for Year 8 (Key Stage 3) Summer Safety – or Primary School children (Key Stages 1 and 2) Bonfire and Firework Safety – for Pupil Referral Units and SEN schools Older Person’s sessions – on request Bespoke sessions on request for young people and a range of community groups. Staffing Structure: We have a full time centre manager, two Community Safety Advisors and and one admin support assistant. Funding/Governance: SafetyWorks! is fully financed and managed by Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service
